When this women's fiction/book club writer was challenged to write a 7K word fantasy story within a short space of time, well, I couldn't say no, could I? I absolutely loved immersing myself in this world of magic and am honoured to appear alongside fellow award -winning and some bestselling authors in this fantastic book.
My tale was inspired by a real event in my childhood.
I'm very proud that this unusual story was chosen to appear in this gorgeous book. It tells the tale of a poignant relationship between a father and son, with it's disguised emotions. Listed in the London Independent Short Story Prize competition and included in their 2024 Anthology.
Here's a little story about a motorhome journey. It's a bit odd and written initially to entertain my adult daughter while we were in lockdown. Entered it on a whim, and hey, a huge thank you to Cranked Anvil for awarding it a prize! You can read this one online by clicking on the above photo

This one is dedicated to my amazing older brother who has a rich imagination and a fabulous sense of humour. Mike constantly winds me up that he's seen Jesus at his local Waffle House. I wrote this to entertain him and planned to write it out in his next birthday card. But first, I entered it into a flash fiction competition. To my delight, they listed it and asked to publish it in this booklet. I'll be sending the booklet to my brother with his next birthday card!
Please forgive this old photo! It's from the 1980's and I've posted it because that gorgeous silver Persian on the right was a beloved pet of mine, the mischievous Roscoe. I'm so thrilled he'll soon be immortalised in a story which I wrote recently about when he was in charge of a group of foxes in my London garden. Soon to be published in an upcoming volume of Chicken Soup for the Soul.
